Siemens Establishes a New Electric Vehicle Charging Manufacturing Center in Carrollton, Texas

Siemens, a global technology company, has recently announced the establishment of a new electric vehicle (EV) charging manufacturing center in Carrollton, Texas. The new facility will be dedicated to the production of Level 2 and DC fast EV chargers, which are essential components of the EV charging infrastructure.

The new manufacturing center is part of Siemens’ commitment to supporting the growth of the EV market in the United States. According to the International Energy Agency, the number of EVs on the road is expected to reach 125 million by 2030, up from just 3 million in 2017. This rapid growth in EV adoption is driving the need for more charging infrastructure, and Siemens is positioning itself as a key player in this market.

The Carrollton facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment and will employ a team of skilled workers to produce high-quality EV chargers. The facility will also serve as a research and development center, where Siemens engineers will work on developing new charging technologies and improving existing ones.

One of the key products that will be manufactured at the Carrollton facility is the Siemens VersiCharge line of Level 2 chargers. These chargers are designed for use in residential and commercial settings and can charge an EV up to six times faster than a standard wall outlet. The VersiCharge line includes both hardwired and plug-in models, making them easy to install in a variety of locations.

In addition to Level 2 chargers, the Carrollton facility will also produce DC fast chargers, which are capable of charging an EV up to 80% in as little as 30 minutes. These chargers are essential for long-distance travel and are becoming increasingly common along major highways and in urban areas.

Siemens has a long history of innovation in the energy sector, and the establishment of the new EV charging manufacturing center is just the latest example of the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation. By producing high-quality EV chargers in the United States, Siemens is helping to create jobs and support the growth of the EV market, while also reducing carbon emissions and promoting a cleaner, more sustainable future.
