Air New Zealand’s Sustainability Advisory Panel to undergo changes

Air New Zealand, the national airline of New Zealand, has announced that its Sustainability Advisory Panel will undergo changes in the coming months. The panel, which was established in 2013, is made up of experts in sustainability and environmental issues who provide guidance and advice to the airline on how to reduce its carbon footprint and operate in a more environmentally friendly manner.

The changes to the panel come as Air New Zealand seeks to further enhance its sustainability efforts and meet its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. The airline has already made significant strides in this area, including investing in more fuel-efficient aircraft, implementing waste reduction initiatives, and offsetting carbon emissions through tree planting and other projects.

One of the key changes to the panel will be the addition of new members with expertise in areas such as renewable energy, sustainable aviation fuels, and biodiversity conservation. These new members will bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the table, helping Air New Zealand to continue leading the way in sustainable aviation practices.

In addition to adding new members, the airline also plans to expand the scope of the panel’s work to include a focus on social sustainability issues such as diversity and inclusion, community engagement, and employee well-being. This holistic approach to sustainability reflects Air New Zealand’s commitment to not only reducing its environmental impact but also being a responsible corporate citizen in all aspects of its operations.

Air New Zealand’s CEO, Greg Foran, expressed his excitement about the changes to the Sustainability Advisory Panel, stating that he believes they will help the airline to stay at the forefront of sustainable aviation practices and continue to make a positive impact on the environment and society.

Overall, the changes to Air New Zealand’s Sustainability Advisory Panel signal a renewed commitment to sustainability and a recognition of the importance of addressing a wide range of social and environmental issues in order to create a more sustainable future for the airline and the planet as a whole. With these changes in place, Air New Zealand is well-positioned to continue leading the way in sustainable aviation practices for years to come.
